Longtime Friendship: Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump Prior to Birthday Party Celebration
Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump's friendship is a longstanding connection, predating their recent appearance at Kardashian's star-studded birthday celebration.
According to an exclusive source speaking with Us Weekly, Kim and Ivanka have maintained their friendship for many years, with numerous get-togethers. Their initial bond was formed nearly a decade ago at the Met Gala, where they connected over the shared experience of motherhood and being new mothers. This connection paved the way for their continued interactions over the years.
During the weekend, Kim Kardashian, aged 43, treated her followers to a series of photographs from her birthday bash in Los Angeles, held on Friday, October 20, at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills. The images showcased Kim alongside her esteemed guests, which included Ivanka Trump, who is 41 years old, as well as family members Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner. The guest list also featured friends such as Hailey Bieber, Kimora Lee Simmons, Sara Foster, Khadijah Haqq, Malika Haqq, and others.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, October 22, Kim expressed her gratitude, saying, "So blessed to have hit the jackpot of friends! I couldn't have ever dreamed I would be so lucky to call these girls my friends. Thank you for all the birthday love ❤️, and Kourt, I'm jumping in bed with you next week for our bed rest picnic 🎂." Unfortunately, Kim's sister, Kourtney Kardashian, couldn't attend the event due to pregnancy complications.
Ivanka Trump, in response, reposted the photos that Kim initially shared. She captioned a group shot of herself, Kim, attorney Lydia Kives, and journalist Lauren Sánchez with, "Loved celebrating you! HBD Kim ❤️✨."
Trump also shared a moment from the celebration on her Instagram Story, featuring the two women sharing laughter while Ivanka held up a cutout of Kim's face.
While their initial connection was centered around motherhood, the insider source revealed that Kim and Ivanka share a "mutual passion" for criminal justice reform. Their commitment to this cause deepened their friendship. They also collaborated on addressing this matter during Ivanka's father, Donald Trump's, presidential tenure.
In 2018, Kim Kardashian visited the White House to work with Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, in advocating for the pardon of Alice Marie Johnson. At the time, Johnson was serving a life sentence for nonviolent drug-related offenses. Through their efforts with the Trump administration, Johnson was granted clemency in 2018 and ultimately pardoned in 2020. This dedication to criminal justice reform has solidified their bond over the years.
