Beyoncé initially hesitated at the thought of her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, taking the stage during the Renaissance World Tour with Jay-Z. The "Energy" singer, however, had a change of heart after negotiating terms with Blue.

In her latest documentary, "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé," the 42-year-old artist revealed the behind-the-scenes dynamics. She recounted saying to Blue, "If you practice and show commitment, I'll let you do one show." Despite her initial reservations about an 11-year-old performing on a stadium stage, Beyoncé acknowledged that her own struggles had prepared her for the challenges, something Blue hadn't experienced.

Blue made her debut during the tour's Paris stop in May, receiving feedback that her dancing needed improvement. Unfazed by online criticism, Blue embraced the challenge and dedicated herself to rigorous practice. In the documentary, she expressed her newfound mindset, noting, "I actually have to wake up in the morning and go to rehearsals, and I actually have to work hard." Blue recognized her improvement through perseverance, stating, "I can see that the more I do it, the better I become."

Impressed by Blue's determination, Beyoncé allowed her to perform in more shows, praising her daughter's fearlessness. The Grammy winner observed Blue's growth, confidence, and increasing self-trust. Beyoncé, who shares 6-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with Jay-Z, emphasized that her 2019 track "My Power" perfectly complemented Blue's stage presence. The lyrics of the song resonated with the family's journey, with Beyoncé expressing pride in Blue's resilience against negativity.

Reflecting on Blue's performance of "My Power," Beyoncé stated, "That's my bloodline." She highlighted Blue's ability to confront negativity and reclaim her power, reinforcing the message of the song. Jay-Z echoed these sentiments, sharing that witnessing his daughter on stage gave him "goosebumps." He acknowledged the challenges Blue faced, being born into a life she didn't choose, and emphasized the significance of her reclaiming power on stage.

In an interview with CBS Mornings, Jay-Z articulated the powerful narrative, stating, "So, for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called 'My Power,' and it's just—you can't write a better script." The rapper acknowledged the unique journey Blue navigated and the symbolic power in her performance.

In essence, Beyoncé's initial reluctance transformed into pride and admiration as Blue Ivy Carter overcame challenges, showcased her dedication, and reclaimed her power on the stage during the Renaissance World Tour. The narrative exemplifies resilience, growth, and the unwavering spirit of a young talent emerging in the spotlight.
